NURSING JOBS IN EUROPE

Study Nursing Adaptation Programme in Czech Republic, Europe

In Europe, in general, nearly 100% of all nursing graduates are healthcare professionals. There is no surprise as there is always a high demand in nursing for foreign skilled professionals.

Nursing Shortage in Europe

There is a continued global shortage of human resources for health. Nurses and midwives comprise the majority of health care professionals in Europe and thus play a key role in the successful delivery of health services. In line with the growing international health workforce crisis, the European Region currently faces serious shortages of well-qualified nurses and midwives.

Europe may be facing a shortage of 1 million health professionals by 2020, according to a European Union Joint Action on Health Workforce Planning estimate.

The call for nurses is a cry heard from all corners of the globe, from developed nations to the developing world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “Nurses are the largest category of health workers. Nursing personnel makes up over 50 percent of the health workforce in every country of the world. In many countries in the developing world, more than 80 percent of health workers are nurses.”

International Nursing

Because of a global nursing shortage and a higher demand for nursing services, healthcare organizations are faced with staffing dilemmas that are reaching crisis levels in certain places. Countries around the world are facing critical nursing shortages. From North America to Africa and Europe, communities are challenged with growing health care needs and diminishing numbers of nurses.

Qualification for International Nursing

The opportunities for nursing internationally are diverse and wide-ranging, so there’s not one degree that will ensure you a position. With that being said, you should assume that you will be required to become a registered nurse in order to work internationally. That means you will need to hold either an associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing and have passed your licensing exam. Nurses with advanced practice degrees may also find their schooling and experience very helpful in working with aid organizations.

Communication plays a key role in the provision of healthcare. In order to effectively care for patients and practice safely, you should acquire a basic knowledge of the language of the country where you will be working. At least learn conversational expressions and a list of common medical terms. While your teaching institution/ hospitals may offer language classes and provide translators to aid in communication. You should make every attempt to learn the language before and during your time overseas in order to fully appreciate the experience both personally and professionally.

Nurses Adaptation programme with PGDHCM at Czech College

As one of the few degrees that offer guaranteed job security and stability (especially with the current high demand for nurses), nursing add-on programmes are thus extremely sought after.

Nurse Adaptation programme:

This is primarily designed to adapt a foreign educated nurse to practice in Czech nursing system. With the integration of Post Graduate Diploma in Health Care Management (PGDHCM) allows them to get thorough knowledge in managing Health Care Organizations like Hospitals, Care Centres, and Clinics etc.

This programme is suitable for students who are interested in studying in a multicultural group. Language and communication skills are highlighted throughout the whole programme. The major portion of the program would be dedicated in learning Intensive Czech Language and Medical terminology in the Czech Language. Course module also consists of a legal framework of the Czech health care system and Practical training in Partner Hospitals, which would be an integral part of the program.

Since this is a practically oriented course, the College would help students in Nostrification (equivalency to Czech qualification) of their existing foreign nursing qualification and prepare them for Approbation test also known as licensure exam. Approbation test consists of four stages in which the first two stages can be done in English or Czech language. The third stage is a 40 days Practical Nursing test conducted in the supervision of a Partner Hospital, which would analyze the efficiency of the Nurse to deal with a real Czech speaking patient. After clearing the fourth stage of the test the candidate becomes licensed and capable of practicing in the Czech Health Care system.

The Nurses Adaptation program is designed to prepare foreign BSc nurses for approbation exam that consists of 4 components. In addition to that, the program will introduce to its students Czech medical environment which will allow future nurses to gain a perfect understanding of the working habits and standards practiced in the Czech Republic.

1st component – professional knowledge:

Students will be prepared for an exam that will test their professional knowledge. The exam can be executed in Czech, English, French, German or Russian language. 2nd component – Healthcare system and legal framework:

Students will be prepared for an exam that will test their knowledge of the healthcare system and basic legal framework related to providing healthcare in the Czech Republic. The exam can be executed in Czech, English, French, German or Russian language. Students will focus on subjects such as Czech healthcare legal framework and Healthcare system.

3rd component – internship:

Students will join a 40-day internship in a hospital with a professional supervision. Students will have review of subjects such as Somatology, Nursing and Psychology prior to starting the internship.
